Opening Address

Dear Friends,

A very warm welcome to the 3rd issue of ILJ for 2011.

This issue focuses on important legal issues like the impact of FDI on LLPs’, corporate lobbying, due diligence, the ‘Darjeeling tea’ case which was an important decision regarding Geographic Indications, how India’s job reservation system can impact its economy and an international perspective to extending arbitration agreements to non-signatories.

The interview of the month deals with the consolidated FDI Policy 2011 which was introduced by the Indian government in April 2011 while the book review section reviews ‘Contemporary Issues and Future Challenges in Air and Space Law’, which talks about the latest updates on air and space law globally. ILJ recently partnered with Lex Witness to organize a conference on legal knowledge management in September.

I wish to express my sincere thanks to all those who have extended their unflinching support for the launch of India Law Journal, particularly our esteemed Board of Editors and the Editorial Team. I also wish to convey my sincere gratitude to the erudite personalities who have contributed invaluable articles for publication. Your feedback will be extremely useful.
