Opening Address


Dear Friends,

A very warm welcome to the 2nd issue of ILJ for 2012.

This issue focuses on important legal issues like should the government be worried about increasing litigation under bilateral investment treaties, applicability of the principle of res judicata, UK Bribery Act 2010 in our series of articles on this topic, Bancassurance, the binding value of circulars issued in violation of taxing statutes and FDI in LLPs.

The interview of the month deals with various challenges that could lie ahead for offshore companies doing business in India or who want to invest in India while the book review section includes a review on Anti-Corruption Regulation 2012’ which includes articles from various law firms on anti-corruption compliance in 54 jurisdictions worldwide. This issue also includes ILJ’s competition law updates from October 2011-March 2012 as well as a special story on the budget insights 2012.
